Scaling & Root Planing
Your Orthodontist may have already determined that you require a deep cleaning of your gums to remove bacteria. This procedure is usually preceded by a comprehensive Periodontal Exam.
The term scaling refers to the removal of plaque, calculus and stain from teeth.
The term root planing refers to the removal of root cementum and dentin that is rough, and /or permeated by calculus or contaminated with toxins or microorganisms. The root surface is smoothed during this process, thus allowing the gum tissue to heal and repair.

Outstanding professional care. The staff listens to and makes sure patients needs and concerns are treated with the utmost respect. Dr. Morris will answer your questions in a way that you can easily understand and never makes you feel like a number. I have recommend Morris Periodontics many times to my friends and colleagues and will continue to do so.
